I have learned first hand that it is not impossible to learn new things even when they appear to be so complicated and hard. Thank you Pam for sharing all of your insight and experience. It has been a great class and I want to learn more.

Reflection for June 20, 2010
Well, it is hard to believe that Summer term is almost over. It has been non-stop but I have learned so much. I can actually say it was fun to work on this final project. I feel like I am finally getting the hang of it but I have a long way to go too. I think it will be fun and very advantageous to stay current with technology. Our children and students will learn faster and better if we use these tools. They will also be better prepared for their future in pursuing education, work and life.

Reflections for June 13,2010
This week I visited several websites to help inform internet users how to safely use the internet. This is extremely helpful for parents and teachers in teaching children about internet safety. The internet has so much to offer but there is also a lot of bad influences out there too. I also learned about internet etiquette. I also learned about cyber bullying. We just can't be careful enough, especially when it comes to children.

Reflections for June 6, 2010
This week was filled with learning how to use Powerpoint. Some of the activities were understandable to complete. Some of them I had some difficulty with. The powerpoint slide show I did was actually fun and I felt that it turned out well. I know there is a lot more to learn about powerpoint but I felt good about getting through the project. My family enjoyed seeing the final project. The pictures I took and used were of some of my children, grandchildren and two of my co-workers. They were gracious to let me take pictures of them pulling funny faces.

May 30 Reflection
This week I read all the articles about digital cameras. I was surprised to learn how much I didn't know about digital cameras and especially how to choose a camera to purchase for using in the classroom. The tips and suggestions for taking great digital images was very helpful and I loved all the fun ways to use a digital camera in the classroom. I'm sure there are so many more was to incorporate them. I have to admit I am excited to learn all of the steps to download pictures, edit them and changing them around but I am also a little nervous at being able to understand and navigate through all the procedures. But I am ready and willing to learn and move forward. I am really excited how to better use my camera and all the capabilities with editing and manipulating images. It is about time I did this. All I have really done is take pictures and go develop them at Costco. I know, it is time for me to catch up with technology or at least try. I really am enjoying all we are learning in the class.

May 23 Refllection
This week I learned a lot by going into Pioneer Library and finding all that is available for teachers and students. There are many sites to help teachers in teaching and to help students learn. I think this will be a great resource for teaching. You can go right to this site and access other references such as Culturegrams. This site was very interesting and fun to research any place and people in the world. I enjoyed looking at many countries and finding the information. I also liked the quick access to the many collections of news articles available in the Utah collection. This would be very useful for students studying current issues. It is exciting to know that we can access all of this information to assist us be good teachers.
I am still struggling a little with downloading pictures. I hope to get this figured out soon.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all the information and steps in moving information around. I enjoyed looking on the UEN website and finding all the information on the Core Curriculum for all ages. I also enjoyed and am having fun looking up all the helps for planning lessons. I didn't realize there were all these resources for teachers. I have also had fun looking for images. I haven't used these applications very much. I'm sure I will use them more now that I know about them.

Reflections for May 5, 2010
This week of class I was a little overwhelmed with all of the information. Even though I use and work on a computer all day at my job, there is so much to learn and so many applications and possibilities. I am very excited to learn how to incorporate using computers and the many different kinds of applications that can be used in teaching. I am not your typical college student. I am returning after raising a family and working. I am amazed how the younger students so easily navigate the computer. Even my grandchildren seem to know more that I do.
I look forward to this new journey in EDEL 2200 and hope to learn and be able to apply what I learn.
